Haughton’s girls have a mighty task to follow when it hosts Parkway in a girls District 1-5A basketball game.
The Lady Bucs (13-8, 3-4) have defeated perennial powers Natchitoches Central and Benton their last two outings. But in front of them is the district leading Lady Panthers (22-2, 7-0) who are the no. 2 ranked team in the latest Class 5A power ratings.
Airline (19-8, 5-2) coming off two close wins will play at Southwood (16-8, 4-3). The Lady Cowboys have won three straight, two coming in the Martin Luther King Classic hosted by Hamilton Christian.
Benton (15-8, 3-4) will be looking to get back on track when it hosts Byrd (11-9, 0-7). The Lady Tigers lost by 50-48 last time out at Haughton.
Captain Shreve (11-10, 3-4) losers of four of its last five, will be on the road at Natchitoches Central (11-10, 3-4). The Lady Chiefs have dropped their last two after having their best stretch of the season six-game win streak.
Northwood (10-6, 5-0), the leader in District 1-4A, will entertain Northwood (14-11, 4-2). The Lady Raiders have won four straight while the Lady Falcons three straight.
Other 1-4A games will have Woodlawn at Evangel and Minden at North DeSoto.
Loyola (10-9) has a pair of non-district games, Thursday at Woodlawn and Friday it will host North Caddo.
Green Oaks (2-17, 0-2) will play at Bossier (4-10, 1-2) in a District 1-3A clash.
Plain Dealing (8-13, 0-1) will take to the road and play Lincoln Prep (2-13, 1-0) in Grambling.
