District 1-5A girls has four teams sporting 3-3 third-place records heading into this week’s games hoping to stay near the top of the league standings.
One of those teams, Captain Shreve (11-9), will face Airline (18-8, 4-2) who will try to remain the lone team in second place. The Lady Gators have lost three of their last four games.
One game will feature two 3-3 teams as Natchitoches Central (11-9) will come to Shreveport to face Southwood (13-8). The Lady Cowboys defeated Opelousas on Sunday 61-32.
Benton, the other 3-3 team has a 15-7 overall record, will play at Haughton (12-8, 2-4) who won at Natchitoches Central its last time out. The Lady Tigers came away with a slim 55-53 defeat of Southwood last Friday.
Parkway leads the league with a 6-0 mark and is 20-2 overall will play at last-place Byrd (11-8, 0-6).
Huntington, who leads District 1-4A with a 4-0 record and is 9-6 overall, will be on the road to Minden (8-12, 3-2).
Booker T. Washington, the second place team at 4-1 is 16-10 overall and will also be on the road playing Woodlawn (10-10, 1-3). Northwood (13-11, 3-2) will be at winless Evangel (0-10, 0-4).
Mansfield (12-5) will open District 1-3A play at Bossier (4-9, 1-1). The Wolverines have the best power rating in the district sitting at no. 6.
Loyola (9-9) leads 1-3A with a 2-0 record and will host North Webster (3-10, 0-1).
In District 1-1A, Calvary (5-6, 0-0) will host Arcadia (10-9, 0-0).
