Governor appoints locals to Boards and Commissions

Gov. John Bel Edwards announced his appointments to several Louisiana boards and commissions.

Louisiana Lottery Corporation

The Louisiana Lottery Corporation approves the operating budget and the terms of major procurements, serves as a board of appeal regarding retailer contracts and adopts administrative rules in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act necessary for the operations of the corporation.

E. Sheridan Shamburg of Shreveport has been reappointed to the Louisiana Lottery Corporation. Shamburg is a teacher with South Highlands Elementary. She will represent the 4thCongressional District.

Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP)

The Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is responsible for coordinating the State’s efforts throughout the emergency management cycle to prepare for, prevent where possible, respond to, recover from and mitigate against, and to lessen the effects of man-made or natural disasters that threaten our State.

Casey B. Tingle of Greenwell Springs has been appointed director of the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. Tingle most recently served as interim director of the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.
